Dr. Lance Fouts

Veterinarian

Dr. Lance Fouts is the owner and Lead Veterinarian of Chaffee Veterinary Clinic. He is a River Valley native graduating from Muldrow High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University after graduating with his Associate’s degree in Zoology from Carl Albert State College. Dr. Fouts graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2013 and completed his clinical year at Kansas State University.

While attending OSU Dr. Fouts worked as an equine technician at OSU Veterinary Medical Center. He then worked as a Veterinary Nurse in a mixed animal practice before attending veterinary school, where he returned as an Associate Veterinarian upon graduating with his DVM. Prior to opening his own practice Dr. Fouts began working at emergency animal hospitals throughout the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas where he honed his skills in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Seeing patients in a high-volume emergency setting along with his mixed animal practice experience led him to develop a deeper appreciation for, and further his education in the fields of, preventative medicine and dentistry. Dr. Fouts is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association.

In his free time, Dr. Fouts enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney, and their four children Lucien, Avonlea, Ira and Collier. They also have a black Labrador mix, named Wally, that stole their hearts as an abandoned puppy they fostered to health. He also enjoys fishing, doing anything outdoors and playing board games.

Courtney Fouts

Practice Manager

Courtney Fouts is the co-owner and Practice Manager of Chaffee Veterinary Clinic. She is born and raised in Fort Smith and graduated from Greenwood High School. While in high school she began working in retail sales where she was quickly promoted to a management position and continued in a full time management position while attending University of Arkansas- Fort Smith where she received an Associate of Arts degree while working towards her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology, Philosophy and Biblical Studies.

Courtney and Dr. Fouts married in 2011 and she had the opportunity to expand her professional experience to include office and dealership management. Upon returning to the River Valley she once again worked in sales management until starting a family. Watching her husband work in the veterinary field from a distance, she is eager to work in the same industry and lend her talents to his passion.

The greatest joy of Courtney’s life is her family-her husband and four young children Lucien, Avonlea, Ira and Collier and therefore she has no “free” time. However, apart from spending time with her husband, little ones and Wally Dog, she has a lifelong passion for reading, enjoys arts and crafts, especially (finger)nail art, and loves a good board game, card game or any game, for that matter.

Josh Dunn

Veterinary Nurse

Josh is a Veterinary Nurse with over 6 years of experience working in the veterinary field. He has had a love for domestic animals and wildlife since he was a boy growing up in the Boston Mountains. He has lived in the Ozarks, the Smokies and the Rocky Mountains.

In his free time, Josh loves anything he can find to do outdoors including, but not limited to, hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping, and wildlife viewing. While exploring nature he has had encounters with bears, mountain lions, moose, elk and a number of other wild animals and is always looking forward to that next magical moment.
